Public Holiday on February 5, 2026 – Kashmir Solidarity Day

According to an official notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, February 5, 2026 (Thursday) will be observed as a public holiday across Sindh on account of Kashmir Solidarity Day.

All government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils operating under the administrative control of the Sindh government will remain closed on this day. However, essential services will continue to function as usual.

Local Holiday Announced in Sindh District

The notification also instructed that a one-minute silence at 10:00 a.m. be observed to pay tribute to the sacrifices of the people of Kashmir.

Educational Institutions Closed on February 4, 2026 – Shab-e-Barat

Earlier, the Sindh School Education and Literacy Department announced a provincial holiday on February 4, 2026 (Wednesday) due to Shab-e-Barat.

As a result, all public and private schools and colleges across Sindh will remain closed on February 4. With the Kashmir Solidarity Day holiday falling the next day, educational institutions will remain closed for two consecutive days.

The February 5 public holiday was formally announced through an official order signed by the Chief Secretary Sindh and circulated to all relevant departments, authorities, and institutions for strict implementation.
